If any of you have checked your newspapers, read news blogs or watched your news shows, you might be aware of the hostage situation that occurred in the Philippines. In summary, an ex-policeman took for hostage a bus of Chinese tourists for approximately 14 hours. He demanded that he be reinstated as a policeman in exchange for the hostages safety. After a long standoff with the police and SWAT, along with dragging the hostage taker's family into the mess, it ended badly and bloody. The hostage taker was killed, some of the tourists will never see their families ever again and those who survived are left with some form of psychological scars.

All caused by a typhoon that hit the country. It's name is Coscon, locally known as Basyang. The good thing is that it became weaker when it made landfall. My life feels so uncertain right now. I don't feel as confident about myself or the direction my life is taking like I did when I was in my freshman year. It makes me question so many things and to curse everyone and everything. Though, upon reflection, I should work though these feeling and focus on that I'm lucky to be where I am.
